
From a Brazilian mother and a musician father, Andréa will be rocked from an early age by the rhythms of samba and bossa-nova. Andrea will study jazz at the regional conservatory of Toulon and at the IMFP of Salon de Provence, which will allow her to learn improvisation and to use harmony to write her own repertoire. It is while browsing the stages that she meets the musicians who accompany her today, friends leaving for a project that opens up to the horizons of jazz and Brazilian music, inspired by the essential Antonio Carlos Jobim, Tania Maria but also from the new generation of jazz, Gretchen parlato, Robert Glasper….

For the first time, he heard something that he knew to be music. He heard people singing. Behind him, across vast distances of space and time, from the place he had left, he thought he heard music too. But perhaps, it was only an echo.
At the crossroads of Jazz, Brazilian and African American music, Andrea Caparros Quartet releases an ambitious and captivating first album. The programmers and the public were not mistaken, because it was also on stage that the Quartet was able to share its musical universe, of which we cannot remain indifferent. It is during festivals, Jazz à Toulon, Jazz des Cinq continents (Marseille), Wolfi Jazz Festival, Albertville Jazz Festival, or in the first part of international artists, Eric Legnini, Rhoda Scott, Calypso Rose, Stanley Clarke etc … that we were able to measure the creativity of these four musicians.
Issue d’une mère brésilienne et d’un père musicien, Andréa sera bercée dès son plus jeune âge par les rythmes de samba et de bossa-nova. Andrea étudiera le jazz au conservatoire régional de Toulon et à l’IMFP de Salon de Provence, ce qui lui permettra d’apprendre l’improvisation et à se servir de l’harmonie pour écrire son propre répertoire. C’est en parcourant les scènes qu’elle rencontre les musiciens qui l’accompagnent aujourd’hui, des amis partant pour un projet qui s’ouvre aux horizons du jazz et de la musique brésilienne, inspirés des incontournables Antonio Carlos Jobim, Tania Maria mais aussi de la nouvelle génération du jazz, Gretchen parlato, Robert Glasper….

A la croisée du Jazz, de la musique brésilienne et Afro Américaine, Andrea Caparros Quartet sort un premier album ambitieux et envoûtant. Les programmateurs et le public ne s’y sont pas trompés, car c’est aussi sur scène que le Quartet a pu faire partager son univers musical dont on ne peut rester insensible. C’est lors de festivals, Jazz à Toulon, Jazz des Cinq continents (Marseille), Wolfi Jazz Festival, Albertville Jazz Festival, ou en première partie d’artistes internationaux, Eric Legnini, Rhoda Scott, Calypso Rose, Stanley Clarke etc… que l’on a pu prendre la mesure de la créativité de ces quatre musiciens.
